Events: The "Fiano Love Fest" kicks off, featuring Agricultural Intelligence.

From August 1st to 3rd, 2025 , Lapio is preparing to host the fourteenth edition of the Fiano Love Fest , one of the most anticipated food and wine events in Campania . Every year, the village—home of the historic Fiano di Avellino DOCG —attracts thousands of visitors and lovers of good wine and good food . Just 20 kilometers from Avellino, Lapio boasts a centuries-old history linked to Fiano, a grape variety already known at the time of the Latin poets and cultivated in these lands since time immemorial. Tradition has it that the first vines were planted right here . The event was created to showcase the village's food and wine excellence . The wineries in the Fiano di Avellino area, which have helped bring this iconic wine to international attention, will be featured: Filadoro, Ioanna, Laura De Vito, Il Sole e il Lupo, Tenuta Scuotto, Terre di Nora, Terra Mia, and Trodella . These wineries will also be present, along with guest wineries that produce Fiano di Avellino in the Lapio area, such as Antica Hirpinia of Taurasi, Bellaria of Roccabascerana, Case d'Alto of Grottaminarda, Macchie Santa Maria of Montemiletto, Felice Meoli of Chiusano di San Domenico, and Vigna Ciampa Matteis of Castelvetere sul Calore. There will also be food and wine stands offering typical Irpinia specialties , represented by businesses such as Calafià, Gerarda Ferrante, Chef Davide Filadoro, Lucariello, Noire, Il Re delle Carni, and Macelleria Maracaibo , along with local associations committed to promoting the region. Desserts will be provided by the Dolcivendolo pastry shop and the Accio liqueur company. The program also includes technical sessions , with guided tastings and tasting booths curated by ONAV Avellino (National Organization of Wine Tasters), hosted in the evocative courtyard of Palazzo Filangieri , the historic residence of the Filangieri family, which stands at the highest point of the historic center. The Fiano Love Fest also encompasses art, culture, and history . During the event, it will be possible to visit the Palazzo Filangieri Monumental Complex , recently returned to the community, with its frescoed rooms of great historical value , a rare treasure in Irpinia. Furthermore, visitors will be able to discover sacred art in the churches of the historic center.

Here's the program: On Friday, August 1st and Saturday, August 2nd 2025 , the food and wine stands and tasting tables will open at 7:00 pm at Palazzo Filangieri . At the same time, guided tours of the Palazzo will be held from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm . Furthermore, tasting tables dedicated to Fiano di Avellino , organized by ONAV ( National Organization of Wine Tasters ), will be open at 8:00 pm. Following this, at 9:00 pm , the evening will continue with a live music performance, which will pleasantly accompany the tastings. On Sunday, August 3rd 2025 , guided tours and e-bike sharing routes will begin at 10:30 am, with the food and wine stands opening at 11:30 am.

From 7pm to 11pm there will be guided tours of Palazzo Filangieri , together with the opening of the stands and the technical tasting tables .

At 8:00 pm there will be tasting stands organised by ONAV , while at 9:00 pm the evening will conclude with live music .

Lapio is a land particularly suited to viticulture ; in fact, it is a member of the national association Città del Vino and overlooks the Calore Valley , where, in one of the few cases in the area, the production of both Fiano di Avellino DOCG and Taurasi DOCG is permitted. The village also boasts a strong agricultural vocation: it is also renowned for its olive groves , which produce the prized Irpinia–Colline dell'Ufita extra virgin olive oil (DOP) . Lapio is also recognized as the City of Honey , thanks to several local varieties, including honey from beekeeper Christian Mattei , awarded among the best in the world at the International Honey Quality Competition .

This year's theme is " Agricultural Intelligence ," a concept that transcends simple practical skill and is rooted in ancient wisdom, born of attentive listening and a profound understanding of the natural mechanisms that govern life. This form of intelligence is expressed in the ability to recognize often invisible signals, which guide us toward more informed and responsible choices, respecting the environment and promoting sustainability. It is an invitation to first carefully observe our surroundings, and then plan a future capable of combining tradition and innovation in a balanced way. Through this journey of knowledge, we rediscover a way of thinking and acting that values the profound connection between humanity and nature, oriented with foresight to the challenges that lie ahead. This year's Fiano Love Fest therefore aims to be an opportunity to reflect on how agricultural intelligence can be a key to building a more balanced, sustainable, and meaningful world.

The event is promoted by the Municipality of Lapio, in collaboration with Pro Loco Lapiana, Land of Hirpinia, Laboratorio Teatrale Lapiano, and local associations. It is co-financed by the Development and Cohesion Fund (FSC) 2021-2027 – Revolving Fund pursuant to Law 183/1987 – Cohesion Agreement of the Campania Region. Project funded by CIPESS resolution no. 70/2024. Project: Fiano Love Fest. Thematic Area 06 Culture. Strategic Plan for Culture and Tourism 2025. Program of cultural, nature, and food and wine tourist itineraries for the promotion of tourism in Campania. Period: "June 2025 – December 2025".
